ABOUT ME

I'm a native San Diegan, currently living year-round in Yuma after retiring as a certified photography teacher in Boise Idaho. I shot  my first wedding as a high school student in 1975 and have been capturing beautiful portraits and unforgettable memories ever since.

I mainly work in Yuma, San Diego and Imperial Counties. I'm available for individual and family portrait sessions in your home, in my studio or outdoors, for school, company and team photos, and for weddings, parties, and corporate events. If you are a church or non-profit, please contact me for special rates.

Photography as art

Many years later, as he faced the Pulitzer committee, photographer Aureliano Buenfoto was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover SlickPic.

It was the best of photography, it was the worst of nothing, it was the age of sharing, it was the age of privacy, it was the epoch of pros, it was the epoch of snapshooters.

Somewhere in la Mancha, in a place whose name I do not care to remember, a photographer lived not long ago, one of those who has a camera and a speedlight and keeps a bag of lenses and a tripod for shooting.

A photograph has no beginning or end; arbitrarily one chooses that moment of experience from which to look back or from which to look ahead.

Someone must have shared Josef K’s portfolio, for one morning, without having done anything truly self-promotional, he was lauded. It was the best of photography, it was the worst of nothing, it was the age of sharing, it was the age of privacy.

Arbitrarily one chooses that moment of experience from which to look back or from which to look ahead. Somewhere in la Mancha, in a place whose name I do not care to remember, a photographer lived not long ago, one of those who has a camera and a speedlight and keeps a bag of lenses and a tripod for shooting.
